Cookie Policy
Last updated: 18 April 2026
We use the smallest number of cookies needed to run PlanningPath. No advertising. No cross-site tracking. No third- party analytics beyond what our hosting provider writes in aggregate server logs.
Cookies we set
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
pp_session | Resumes your in-progress assessment if you come back later. Links your browser to the session row so your answers are saved. httpOnly, sameSite=lax, secure in production. | 30 days | Strictly necessary |
That's our entire cookie surface. We don't set analytics, advertising, or personalisation cookies.
Cookies set by third parties
When you click through to pay, you leave our site and land on Stripe Checkout. Stripe sets its own cookies there — we have no control over or visibility into them. Their purpose is fraud prevention and session continuity during checkout. See Stripe's cookie policy.
Our hosting provider (Vercel) writes request logs containing your IP address, user-agent, and URL path for security and operational purposes. This data is retained for 30 days. It is not used to build advertising profiles.
Why we don't have a cookie banner
Under the UK PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003) and ICO guidance, consent is not required for cookies that are strictly necessary to deliver a service the user has requested. Our one cookie (pp_session) falls squarely in that category: you asked to do an assessment, we use the cookie to save your progress across pages. No other cookies are set, so there's nothing to consent to.
If we ever add optional analytics or personalisation cookies in future, we'll add a proper consent banner first.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete pp_sessionin your browser settings. If you do, your in-progress wizard answers won't persist between pages and you'll need to start over each visit. Your paid pack (if you have one) is accessed via a unique URL, not a cookie, so blocking cookies doesn't affect report access.
